Rah, rah for your little cheerleader!  Dress her in this simple get-up and your daughter will be big on Halloween spirit, even if you are short on time for a costume.

What you'll need:

  • Mid-thigh skirt in a solid color
  • Coordinating tank top
  • White turtleneck
  • Bobby socks
  • White sneakers
  • Hair ribbon
  • Pom-poms
  • Old white t-shirt or white fabric remnant
  • Black permanent marker
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

How to make it:

  1. Draw the outline of a megaphone on the white fabric and trace bolding with the permanent marker.  You can write your message (we used “Go Team”), in the middle (see image).
  2. Cut outside the black line and hot glue the megaphone to the front of the tank top.
  3. Dress up your little cheerleader using the turtleneck under the tank top.  If her hair is long enough, pull it up into a ponytail and put a bright, large hair ribbon on it (see image).
  4. Have her wear white socks and sneakers, and give a cheer for her costume victory!

Tips:

  1. Socks should be the short style, or no-show socks.
  2. When using hot glue, place a piece of thick paper or cardboard inside the shirt to prevent the glue from getting on the back of the shirt.
  3. It’s best if you can find clothing and pom-poms that coordinate in color.
