Remind yourself it's the season to be jolly every time you turn the light on with this Christmas tree light pull. It's a simple craft foam project that kids enjoy using to light their way.

What you'll need:

  • Green craft foam sheet
  • Beaded key chain with clasp
  • Gold glitter paint
  • Jewels (flat on one side) (any size)
  • Zigzag scissors (or regular)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Wax paper
  • Heavy book(s)

How to make it:

  1. Cut two tree shapes out of the green craft foam using zigzag scissors.
  2. Tear off a piece of wax paper. Place one tree shape on the wax paper.
  3. Lay the beaded key chain so that it is coming through the top of the tree with the clasp at the top. (See photo)
  4. Generously apply hot glue everywhere, making sure to cover the chain.
  5. Lay the other tree shape over the top, matching sides.
  6. Push together firmly.
  7. Tear off another piece of wax paper and lay on top of the trees.
  8. Lay the heavy book on top of the tree and let dry for a few hours or overnight.
  9. Decorate one side of the tree using glitter paint to adhere the jewels to the tree.
  10. Use the gold glitter paint to draw lines of "garland" on the tree.
  11. Let dry.
  12. Decorate the other side of the tree using glitter paint to adhere the jewels to the tree.
  13. Use the gold glitter paint to draw lines of "garland" on the tree.
  14. Let dry.
  15. Attach on to your light's beaded chain. You may need to take the clasp off in order to hang it.
  16. Do you have two beaded chains, one for the light and one for the fan? Make an ornament or present shape to attach to the other chain.
