Easter Egg Vine

Difficulty: Average

Parental supervision is recommended

This makes up quickly and is very versatile. Use decorative picks with bunny ears, ducks, or whatever you may find.

What you'll need:

  • An inexpensive silk vine
  • Decorated plastic Easter eggs on picks
  • Solid colored plastic Easter eggs on picks
  • Thin wire
  • Wire cutters
  • Green floral tape
  • Scissors

How to make it:

  1. Arrange your eggs on the table in the order you would like them to appear on your vine.
  2. Fold your vine in half to find the middle.
  3. Cut a piece of wire about 4" long.
  4. Lay an egg next to the middle point of your vine.
  5. Wrap the wire first around the vine to fasten.
  6. Wrap the wire tightly around the pick close to the bottom of the egg, attaching it to the vine. Continue wrapping, covering about 1/4" of the pick.
  7. Snip the excess pick off with the wire cutters.
  1. Fold one end of the vine in to touch the egg. This will find the middle of half of the vine. Repeat attaching the egg as before. Using this procedure will help space the eggs out evenly throughout the vine without having to measure.
  2. Alternate between decorated and solid colored eggs.
  3. Be sure to fold in the sharp points on the wire!!!
  4. Cut small pieces of floral tape about 4" long. Wrap around the vine to hide the pick and wire.
  5. Hang on a banister, around an Easter display on a table, or wherever you wish to add a festive touch!

Tips:

My sister gave me the idea for this vine when she saw an expensive one in a mail-order catalog. She described what the vine was like and challenged me to create one! Here it is Sis, hope you like it! You'll be receiving it soon! 8-D
