Safety First
Before painting on any children, observe their skin. If they have any open sores or cuts, rashes or even acne, do not paint their face. Instead offer to paint their shoulder, arm or other area where no skin condition exists, or offer temporary tattoos as an alternative.

Avoiding Boredom in Line
Standing in line waiting your turn is excruciating for children, especially the younger set. To avoid this difficult situation, have children write their names on slips of paper. Have each child fold their paper and place it into a hat. Tell them that when their name is called they will come up to take their turn. Allow them the opportunity to watch others being painted, but have alternate activities planned for those who are waiting their turn.
