Let Dad know that he's #1 with this fabulous Father's Day pop-up card. It's a fun homemade craft for kids to create.

What you'll need:

  • Piece of teal blue cardstock, 5 1/2 inches by 81/2 inches
  • Piece of creme cardstock, 5 inches by 8 inches
  • Sheet of creme cardstock
  • Sheet of bright blue cardstock
  • Sheet of white cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Blue fine-tip marker
  • Double-stick tape
  • Ruler
  • Pinking shears

How to make it:

  1. Cut the pieces of teal blue and creme paper to the right sizes.
  2. Fold both pieces in half so you have two cards.
  3. On the creme piece of paper, make two cuts on the fold that are an inch apart from each other. One two inches from the top, the other
two inches from the bottom. Make the cuts horizontal, about inch inch into the card.
  4. Fold the piece you've just cut into the card so when you open it there's a raised tab.
  5. Attach the teal blue card to the creme card with double-stick tape. Put the creme inside and the teal blue outside.
  6. Cut another piece of creme paper from the sheet that is two-and-a-half inches by five inches.
  7. Attach it to the front of the card with double-stick tape.
  8. Cut a tie out of the bright blue cardstock.
  9. Cut out white strips for the tie and attach them with double-stick tape.
  10. Attach the tie to the front of the card with double-stick tape on the top of the creme paper.
  11. Cut out a circle from the white cardstock that is one-and-a-quarter inches in diameter.
  12. Cut out another circle one-and-a-half inches in diameter from the bright blue card stock. Cut it out with the pinking shears.
  13. Tape the white circle on top of the blue circle.
  14. Cut two strips from the blue cardstock about half an inch wide and two-and-a-half inches long.
  15. Attach these strips to the back of the blue and white circle. This forms the ribbon for the inside.
  16. Tape the ribbon to the inside of the card on the tab. You will probably have to fold the circles in half so they will fit on the tab better.
  17. Use the blue fine-tip pen to write a #1 on the ribbon and or any other words.
