Holiday Clay Earrings

With an adult's help, children can bake up these Holiday Clay Earrings which make perfect jewelry for any holiday.
What you'll need:
- 200 ml Water
- 300 g Flour
- 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
- 300 g Salt
- Poster paints
- Clear varnish
- Earring backs (clip-on)
- Glue
- Plastic knife (the one used with play doh) or a circle cookie cutter
- Paintbrush
- Mixing bowl
- Jar of water
- Baking sheet
- Wire rack
How to make it:
For Salt Dough
- Mix the flour, salt, oil, and water into a soft dough in the bowl. Add more water if necessary.
- Sprinkle some flour on the table and knead it with your hands, until it is smooth and stretchy.
The Earrings
- Set the oven to 180 C/350 F.
- Model the dough into a circle or mold it with the cutter. It should be small enough to fit your ear.
- Put the earrings in the baking sheet. Put the baking sheet in the oven for 20 minutes.
- Let the earrings cool on a wire rack.
- Paint a design on your earrings. Paint a Christmas tree, a snow man, etc. When the paint has dried, coat the earrings with varnish.
- Glue the earring backs onto the earrings. Let the glue dry.
- TA DA! The earrings are ready to wear and give.
