Age: Teenagers (13+)
Average User Rating:
Turn some of your favorite photos and mementos into locker décor. Collect pictures from magazines, photos of friends, a mini collage of movie tickets, or an old paperback book cover from your favorite book . . . the list goes on and on!
What you'll need:
- Photos of friends
- Celebrity shots from magazines
- Foam core
- Beads or jewels
- Magnets (old or new)
- Craft glue
- Hot glue and glue gun
- Paintbrush
- Craft knife
How to make it:
1. Gather magnets (new or used).
2. Carefully crop photos and magazine clippings. You can cut them in any geometric shape or cut around the edges making a silhouette of your subject. This way you can have a rock star-shaped magnet or a best friend’s-head-shaped magnet.
3. Trace your cut-outs onto foam core and carefully cut out with a craft knife.
4. Spread craft glue onto the foam core evenly with a paint brush.
5. Affix each cut-out photo to its foam-core shape.
6. Adorn your photos with an outline of beads or jewels.
7. Hot glue the magnet to the back of your mounted photo, making sure that the magnetized side is facing out.
8. Use these magnets for simple decoration or for holding your latest to-do list or notes to yourself.

Variation:
Instead of using only photos you can mount your prom tickets, a newspaper clipping, a playbill, or a hand-drawn (or computer-generated) design of your name. Use your imagination!
