Princess Mirror

Difficulty: Very Easy

Age: 6 and up

Little girls can make their very own double-sided mirror fit for a princess! Encrusted with craft jewels, this lovely mirror makes a great addition to anyone's royal collection.

What you'll need:

  • 2 craft foam frames (look for the 2 packs)
  • Aluminum foil
  • Shipping tape
  • Glue dots
  • Wooden dowel
  • Craft jewels
  • White craft glue
  • Ribbon
  • Scissors

How to make it:

  1. Open the frames and remove any inserts. Use the insert to create the mirror by covering it in aluminum foil. Insert back into the frame. Do this for both frames. If there aren't two inserts, simply smooth out a piece of foil and insert it into the frame. (See photo.)
  2. Turn one of the frames upside down and insert the wooden dowel into the back of the frame. Secure with shipping tape. (See photo.)
  3. Place glue dots all around the outer edge of the back of the frame, then press the two frames together, back-to-back.
  4. Decorate the outside of the frame with craft jewels, securing with white glue. (See photo.)
  5. Tie some colorful ribbon around the top of the dowel handle. Trim the excess with scissors.

Tips:

  1. Craft foam frames are available at craft supply stores and are often sold in packs of two.
  2. For a quicker solution, look for craft foam mirrors as they are still available for sale in some places.
  3. Buy craft jewels from craft supply stores in a variety of sizes and shapes.
