Kids can customize their rooms with this cool Shrinky dink mobile craft. They'll have fun making a mobile that matches their interests--they can even use wallpaper or bed sheets as a pattern.
What you'll need:
- Shrinky Dinks shrinkable plastics
- Wallpaper or border, or sheets to use as a pattern
- Colored pencils
- Hole punch
- Scissors
- Clear plastic thread or fishing line
- Use of an oven
How to make it:
Remember that Shrinky Dinks shrink a lot! Be sure to trace a large design!- We traced my son's sheets as the edge pattern of the sheet was bigger than the wallpaper border.
- We colored in the designs and cut around the outside of the designs.
- Next hole punch two holes in the top of the main design. Hole punch on the bottom of the main design for each piece that you will hang from it.
- Hole punch the top of each additional piece. If you are going to have another piece hanging from it, be sure to hole punch the bottom of the design.
- Follow the manufacturer's directions for baking the plastic. Note: This should be done by an adult!
- Let cool completely.
- Thread with the plastic thread and hang in your room.
